Jimmy R. Summelin

HICKORY–Young, Morphis, Bach & Taylor, LLP, a law firm serving western North Carolina for over 60 years, announced the addition of Jimmy R. Summerlin, Jr. as partner in the firm.

“Jimmy has an impressive track record as an attorney and is an incredibly hard-working individual.  We are pleased that Jimmy has chosen to take this next step in his career with our firm,” stated Terry M. Taylor, Managing Partner.

Summerlin, a Tarboro native, practices in the firm’s Hickory office, where he focuses on bankruptcy law, commercial law, and corporate transactional law.

Summerlin also handles other legal matters such as real estate, wills, trusts and estates.  When not practicing law, Jimmy enjoys spending time with his family, working on church related activities, fishing and hunting. Summerlin earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from North Carolina State University in Raleigh.  He received his Juris Doctorate, with a concentration in business transactions, and his Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Summerlin is a member of numerous professional associations, including the Catawba County Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, American Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
